Course Reflection Narrative
During the course of WLC 400, WLC Major Capstone taught by Dr. Gonzalez and assisted by our faculty advisor Dr. Fernandez, my capstone partner and I worked hard to complete our project with our presentation. My teammate on this project was Jazmin Mendoza Morales and we both focused on our Capstone project which was “The role of women from the perspective of Horacio Quiroga’s stories”. We chose to write about this topic because in many of Quiroga’s short stories he writes about women as objects and gives them such tragic endings and because of this we wanted to explore as to why that is and see if there is a reason for it. With the help of our advisor and instructor we were both able to conduct a lot of research for our project in order for it to be completed in the best possible way. After completing this project I was able to learn a lot of new information regarding the author Horacio Quiroga and really analyze his work to a better understanding. I feel like this course was a final step that all my other courses that I have taken lead to this one because I was able to take what I have learned from the other courses and apply it to this particular project. We persevered despite the fact that completing our Capstone project and essay was by no means an easy assignment or path on the way to success, and we are now moving on to our next steps in life to succeed using the principles this course gave us.
