Course Reflection Narrative
Throughout this semester in the course SPAN 362 I was introduced to to many amazing authors and their stories. I was introduced to Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, Ruben Dario, Gabriela Mistral, Jorge Luis Borges, Juan Rulfo, etc., and after reading their stories there were many that I found really interesting such as The Underdogs which is a novel published in 1915 by Mariano Azuela which takes place during the Mexican Revolution and talks about a group of men that focuses on their experiences. This novel was what I chose to write about in my final paper for the class because It has so much to talk about and it helped that the novel was really straightforward plus easy to read. Another reason that I chose to write about this novel was because I enjoy war history and this novel talks about the experiences of an important war in my opinion. His course helped me fulfill the outcomes of MLO 3 because by reading and analyzing all the stories, novels, and letters of this course I was able to focus on the history of literature which helps me learn the difference of writing from today. I really enjoyed being in this course because it helped me become a much better writer than I was before I started the course. Even though I know writing is not my strongest point I enjoyed the challenge of writing a lot during the semester because I know by writing a lot helps with improvement. There are still some challenges as I continue to develop my writing because I know writing can be better but with more practice I know I can get better I feel it has improved a lot since the start.
